John Schonert
Artist

As a contemporary artist working across painting, printmaking, photography, and video, my creative practice is driven by a deep fascination with colour. I approach different mediums with a liberating sense of experimentation, utilising vibrant hues and fluid movements to examine complex emotional landscapes and the subtle threads of human connection.
Inspired by everyday moments and cultural narratives, my work aims to build immersive experiences that invite the viewer to reflect, feel, and imagine. Constantly experimenting and developing, my evolving practice is heavily influenced by the raw emotion and scale of 20th-century artists such as, Mark Rothko, Lee Krasner and Clyfford Still.

My art has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Malaga, Madrid, and Rome, and included in a number of private collections throughout Europe and the US.
